Los Jardines Institute

We hope you enjoyed an introduction to the Farmworker Association of Florida. This week, we would like to introduce you to another partner, Los Jardines Institute, located in Albuquerque, NM. My first trip with Coming Clean and the Environmental Justice Health Alliance for Chemical Policy Reform was to Albuquerque and Los Jardines Institute. While there, I was able to see a peak into the fantastic work they do, along with the traveling Librotraficante. I was also able to tour the Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge and see the Sacred Indigenous sites where the U.S. government stores nuclear waste. Residents near the atomic bomb testing site still suffer from the blast's negative impacts. See the link below for more information on Downinders and how Los Jardines Institute supports them.

Here is a self-description of the organization:

The work of the founders of Los Jardines Institute spans over 70 years of social, environmental and economic justice organizing, education and building a multi-generational movement.

We are a predominately  volunteer-run organization that supports itself through our projects and grass roots fundraising.
