Who’s Minding the Store?5th annual report card on retailer actions to eliminate toxic chemicals

If you still have shopping to do or still have receipts from Black Friday, this week’s reading will be useful. Last week, we looked at hazardous medical products, and their impact on health and the environment as millions gathered to spend time with loved ones who may be sick. We hope it highlighted what may be a lesser-known concern for many and potentially spark current or future researchers to think of ways to heal without harming others. Better yet, we hope it inspired people to think of ways to prevent illness that might be prevented, especially if we remove the environmental hazards linked to those diseases.

This week’s reading is from the Mind the Store campaign. It is the 5th Annual Retailer Report Card.

Excerpt: “When we walk into a trusted store, we expect the products on the shelves to be safe. But toxic chemicals are hiding in everyday products and packaging all around us, from cleaning products and food packaging to baby toys and electronics.”
